Neurodermitis (atopic) is a severe skin disease that is both debilitating and potentially life threatening. There is no cure for the disease. Prescribed therapies are aimed at relieving the irritation of progressively hardening skin tissue. Atopic neurodermitis is on of the conditions relieved by cannabis medications in testimony put before DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis Young. In 1988, after months of testimony, Young handed down a historic ruling allowing prescriptive access to marijuana. Young’s ruling was summarily denied by federal Drug Enforcement Administration authorities.[i]
