Nutrition is a subject apart from medical research on the therapeutic effects of cannabis compounds. However, as some patients ingest whole marijuana in brownies or other foods, it bears noting that cannabis seeds are highly nutritious. Essential in fatty acids, B vitamins, and complete proteins found in hemp seeds have served as mankind’s oldest renewable food sources.[i] [ii] [iii] [iv] [v] while drug-testing agencies lobby to ban all hemp products, the US Food and Drug Administration has no objection to nonnutritive food additives such as monosodium glutamate and the recently developed Olestra, which do have known health hazards.[vi]
